What is the difference between LaserJet and Ink Jet Printers?

A Laser printer uses light to transfer powdered toner as an image to a drum which is then melted by the fuser to your paper. An InkJet printer squirts liquid ink through hundreds of tiny holes on a printhead onto your paper.

What's the difference between a remanufactured cartridge and a new one (OEM)?

Savings. A remanufactured cartridge will save you 20%-50% off the cost of a new cartridge. Both new and remanufactured cartridges have comparable yield although some remanufactured cartridges can contain a jumbo load.

What are HP “Error Codes” and what do they mean?

When a laser printer has a problem it’s displayed immediately as an error code. These are the common errors on an HP laser printer:

Error 13.XPaper Jam - X designates the jam location
Error 20Memory Overflow
Error 49Power cycle
50 ServiceFuser Malfunction - could also be power supply
51& 52 ErrorLaser or Scanner Motor Malfunction
57 ErrorMain Motor or Fan Motor - Could be failure or something binding
Error 79Formatter, MIO Card or Additional Memory

I’m receiving an error code when I start up my printer or during a print. What do I do?

Please call or email us with the printer model and error codes. Call us toll-free at(877) 397-1377 or email us at service@LaserPlusUSA.com.

My printer pulls more than one page during printing.

Old, curled or damp paper can cause paper jams. First, try replacing your paper with new paper. Then check the separation pad or paper pick up assembly for signs of dirt and wear. If your printer continues to pull more than one page during printing, give us a call.

My printer says "Paper Jam Please remove paper and close the door." I’ve removed all the paper and closed the doors and the error is still there.

There may still be a piece of paper stuck you can not see or a sensor may be out of whack or broken. If you are unable to fix the problem, call us.

Why does my printer make noise right before it prints?

In laser printers the laser scanner motor is starting and the fuser is warming up. The paper may rub against the pickup roller or separation pad. In an ink jet printer, the carriage is moving into the start print position. These are normal sounds.

I’ve lost my manual. Do you know where I can get a new one?

Visit the manufacturer’s website and download the manual.

When should I replace my printer?

A quick rule of thumb for replacement versus repair is when the cost of the repair is more than the printer is worth or it is starting to break down frequently. Our technicians can help you through this decision making process

Where can I recycle my printer?

Laser Plus will be happy to recycle your printer at no cost to you.
